Galaxy of VIPs including diplomats, bureaucracy, senior journalists from print & electronic media attend event arranged by KEC
KARACHI: Wang Yu Consul General of China at Karachi has said that Pak-China friendship is being more developed and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be further strengthening this relationship. He was addressing the Book launching ceremony “Amazing China” by Manzar Naqvi on the eve of 97th Anniversary of Communist Party of China, arranged by Karachi Editors Club at Beach Luxury Hotel. The proceeding began with the recitation from Holy Quran by the Iranian envoy at Karachi, Reza Sultani.
Wang Yu said Pak China a relationship can be never end. Manzar Naqvi has showed original true picture of China to facilitate Pakistani people. He said Manzar wrote his own experience on the development of China in different sectors like education, urbanisation, communication and various others including progress on Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI). He said Manzar Naqvi has brought our two nations further closer by writing his books (a reference to his earlier book “Wonderful China” also). He said China is proud to her friendship with Pakistan. China and Pakistan always help each other on every difficult situation.
Yu said Chinese already working on different projects in Pakistan like power projects, Economic Zone, Port Qasim and various others. He said Pakistani nation will be benefited by these projects directly to get employments and find opportunity to its economic development and a new era of prosperity will be open for our Pakistani brothers. He said Chinese students also come to Pakistan on study tours, and through this book of Manzar Naqvi peoples of both countries will get opportunity to learn more and exchange their experiences.
About the CPEC project, Wang Yu said that it’s a big development plan which will be completed in 4-5 years. As many as 43 projects will be completed in the first phase while 22 are in process, and about 70,000 Pakistanis and Chinese workers are serving on these projects. He said Manzar’s books will bring both nations more closure.
Manzar Naqvi, in his address said, President Xi Jinping, after Chairman Mao, is a very visionary person. He launched BRI programme for the development of regional countries total 75 countries will be benefiting by this master mind BRI project. It will cost around 10 trillion dollars while CPEC is one of the parts of BRI which has been increased from 43 billion to 73 billion dollars. It is a very fruitful project for both countries and the game changer for Pakistan. He said due to sincere leadership China has been converted in the top economy of the world while soon be a super power of the world.
Manzar said in his two books “Wonderful China” and “Amazing China” he shared his experience of Chinese development in every sector, its ancient history to modernization and compared the same with our own country. We are far behind due to corrupt leadership in our country. Whenever we will find a sincere leadership, we have potential to be an Asian Tiger at least. He appreciated to support and cooperation extended to him by the Chinese Consulate at Karachi.
Naqvi informed the audience that he will discuss about his book “Amazing China” in details on July 12, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM including Question and Answer session at the Presentation Ceremony of his new book being arranged by Karachi Readers Club at Defence Authority Club, Phase 2, DHA.
Mubasher Mir, President of KEC, in his welcome address said that Chinese have given name to Manzar as Mun Chong, due to his love with Chairman Mao and now we call him with his new name Mun Chong Mao. Briefing about KEC, he said KEC has honour and is proud to launch new book of Manzar Naqvi “Amazing China” which is a well informative book on China, and am thankful to Manzar Naqvi for approving the idea to launch this valuable book on China from the platform of KEC. He said the book has enlightened CPEC and due to this amazing project Pakistan will again resume its development process.
You Hang, Deputy Managing Director of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in his address appreciated the efforts of Manzar Naqvi by writing his two books on China. He opined that economy of both countries will now be further strengthened.
Nasim Baig, Vice Chairman Arif Habib in his address lauded the spirit of writing this book and appreciated exploration of facts about Chinese development. He hoped that economic relations of both countries will be further strengthened.
Agha Masood Hussain, a senior journalist and ex-Minster Sindh appreciated the content of his book. He said the book is really amazing and should be translated in Urdu and Chinese. He also suggested that the book should be a part of higher studies in the Universities of Pakistan. Government should also spread the book among the government officials on Federal and provincial level. He said he has also visited China and witnessed that China is corruption-free country due to the sincere leadership of China.
Akhlaq Ahmed, a senior journalist and Author, in his lively address said the book is a travelogue of Manzar Naqvi but he also discussed social economic urbanization and industrial progress in China. He disclosed that Manzar Naqvi is his friend for the last 40 years but he never disappointed his friend or any relations belonging to him.
Javeria Tareen, Chairperson Balochistan Institute of Research and Developments (BIRD) in her address said the book “Amazing China” is a valuable addition towards our bilateral relations with China. She lauded the role of Manzar Naqvi for cooperating with friends and supporting new talents. Ateeq-ur-Rehman, a social worker and Financial Analyst also appreciated the book and congratulated the Chinese Consul General and the author of the book. He said this book is a new milestone of relationship between the two countries.
Saeed Khawar, Editor 92 and one of the host of the lively ceremony along with TV Anchor Alveena Agha, also shared his experience of his travel to Turkey in 2012 with Manzar Naqvi and he has hosted first book of Manzar on Turkey “The Land of Ataturk”, then 2nd book “Wonderful China” and now he is on hat-trick of lunching the third book of Manzar. He emphasised upon the author to translate these books in Urdu for the benefit of general public of Pakistan.
At the end of ceremony, 97th anniversary cake of CPC was cut by Wang Yu along with You Hang DMD PSX and Manzar Naqvi.
Asmi, wife of the author, also shared her experience of China visits in her electronic media interview after the ceremony. The ceremony was largely attended citizens belonging to every walk of life in Karachi while Ali Nawaz Gilani Secretary General Pak-China Friendship Association, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Ms Javeria Tareen Chairperson BIRD, especially flown to Karachi for the ceremony.
Mukhtar Aqil, Sr Vice President KEC, in his vote of thanks and address congratulated all concerned on launching the book, especially Shaukat Mahmood Group head, and Syed Ibne Hasan Head of Communication Department National Bank of Pakistan, and DMD PSX You Hang for sponsoring the event and participating as guests of honour at the ceremony. They were also presented mementos from the KEC on this occasion.
