Pak-China Media Corridor (PCMC) should be established: Sarmad Ali

The 15th meeting of Karachi Editors Club (KEC) was held during the week at Beach Luxury Hotel. Syed Sarmad Ali, President All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and Managing Director Jang Group was the chief guest on this occasion. President KEC Mubasher Mir highlighted the activities and performance of the KEC before the chief guest and invited all participants of the meeting to address the gathering. All members of the meeting appreciated long services of Syed Sarmad Ali for the print media industry for the last 35 years. Members opined that Sarmad is very friendly and cooperative for all and good human being.
Sarmad Ali in his address on the occasion thanked all who have good thoughts about him and said that he first time listened very much about him. He said the future of the print media is bright and it faces no threat from the developing electronic and social media. He said although circulations of print media have been decreased due to electronic media but due to technology revolution readership of the print media has been increased due to e-papers of newspapers. He said the print media is more authenticated as compared to electronic media due to time leverage. He said that print media should develop its content especially for the young generation for future success.
Sarmad said Belt and Road (BRI) and CPEC are very important for our future, that is why enemies of Pakistan are trying to spread negative propaganda about BRI but we should beware from this negative propaganda and concentrate our future developments.
He suggested that Pakistan-China Media Corridor should be established for our future media connectivity to finish negative propaganda between the two countries. He said The News is already printing weekly China Daily South Asia edition and will be publishing soon two pages in Chinese language. He said over 50,000 Chinese are regularly serving in Pakistan while around 500,000 Chinese visit here every year.
In reply to a question, Sarmad clarified that That CPEC should not relate with East India Company that was a different scenario.
Towards the conclusion of the event, Senior Vice President Mukhtar Aqil summed up all the discussion and appreciated the role of Sarmad Ali for the development of print media since long. He said KEC is now in a commanding position and also performing for the good future and developments of whole media industry of Pakistan.
